Data Issues
How do I enter data?Snap-Plus uses a database system to store user data. The best way to organize farm data is to have one Snap-Plus database per client or farm. Creating a new database is done using the "File/New" menu item.
The best way to get data into Snap-Plus is to work down the tabs from the Farm screen to the Season screen. The one excption to this rule is if you are just starting a new farm and planning on importing soil test data. Then you should do the soil test import before entering field data. The import sets up the fields which saves you some data entry time. See also definitions.
Once you have the farm and field data entered, you shouldn't have edit these pages much. Be sure to set up all your sources of manures and fertilizers before you add season data. That way the nutrient source information will get carried forward for you when you add new years to the season screen and you won't have to edit as much by hand.
How do I save my data?
Currently Snap-Plus saves data as you work. There is no need to explicitly save data. The "Save As" menu item is for making a copy of the current database and switching to it.
