Soil Test Import
Can I import a soil test taken before I started using Snap-Plus?You need to check with the soil test lab which analysed your samples, but most if not all will be able to create a Snap-Plus formatted import file from older soil tests.
Can I import Snap2000 soil test import files into Snap-Plus?
Snap2000 import files are in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format which Snap-Plus cannot recognise. However, your soil test lab can probably deliver your old soil test results in Snap-Plus format. Failing that, you could modify and export a text import file from your Snap2000 import files.
What is the format of a Snap-Plus soil test import file, and how can I look at one.
Snap-Plus soil test import files are simple text files that can be viewed and edited with any text editor such as Notepad or Wordpad. The file format is described here, and instructions for creating one are here. These documents are also in your Snap-Plus setup under the "SnapPlus/docs" directory.
I have a soil test import file from my lab, but it won't import into Snap-Plus.
Several users have reported situations where soil test import files downloaded from their lab would not work with Snap-Plus. What has happened in these cases is that some or all of the lines in the file were split with extra carriage returns. If you are having problems with a file, you might be able to see what is wrong by looking at the data preview grid in Snap-Plus' soil test import dialog box. You can also look at the file in notepad or wordpad. If the problem is not obvious, you should contact your soil test lab and/or the Snap-Plus support team.
